The Car Courses

The Chauffeur

Want your driving to waft along as if floating on air?

The Chauffeur course is for you then, learn how to breeze down the road keeping the car under full control, stable in the bends, and with braking techniques that your passengers just wont even feel. This course is for those that hate the idea of their passengers being thrown around the car on the slightest of bends, or look like nodding dogs with every gear change, stop, or start.

We can usually get this course done in a day, but additional days are always available if required.

Making Progress

Aimed at Drivers that want to be able to use their vehicle in a safe, controlled, and efficient manner in order to make good progress appropriate for whatever the conditions may be.

This course concentrates on how to achieve 'flow' by stretching your observations further and prioritising the information obtained, whilst always looking for the path of least resistance ahead.

We'll also look at how you use the vehicle controls, trying to avoid brake, and clutch overlap along with steering techniques and timing.

We never want to sneak up on our car's controls, we always want to try and set it up and tell it what to do before we actually do it, the only way to accomplish this is to be smooth with all of our inputs.

This course will give you those skills and revolutionize your driving!

Maximum Progress

More for the enthusiastic driver with a high end or performance vehicle looking for a more sporty drive. Making maximum progress within the confines of the Law, you'll learn your car's quirks and sweet spots, generating more smiles than miles.

Making sure you understand your cars controls, functions and systems, understanding the drive modes and what they do to the throttle maps, steering and suspension settings.

Learn about Balancing the vehicle though the bends, keeping traction and grip on all four tyres, maximising on stability, flexibility and control.

Roadcraft - The Police Standard

Roadcraft is the widely renowned system of vehicle control used by every Police force in the UK, and quite possibly the best driving standard to be had in the world.

In its civilian format, this course offers all of the same training but for obvious reasons without the blue-light and emergency response exemptions. But, don't be fooled, this will still demand a huge level of concentration and commitment.

Consisting of 5 key components, it gives you a systematic approach to almost every driving scenario, these are broken down into sub-sections covering a wealth of skills, such as;

Positioning, Anticipation of others, Junctions & roundabouts, and Motorways.

These are just a tiny selection of some of the area's Roadcraft covers, but it really is the definitive system for the safest driving to be had.

Ahead of this training I strongly recommend you purchase the latest TSO Police Drivers handbook & the latest Highway Code, this will allow you to obtain a basic understanding of the training ahead and a refresh of road law & guidelines, as there will be elements of theoretical training on these topics.

I can coach and mentor anybody to this driving standard, you just need the motivation, commitment and time.

Each day is 7 hours long, plus 1 hour for lunch, but we can start and finish at times suited to you.

Night Skills

Would you believe, you can make better progress on a winters night, than on a summers day?!

Whatever you're driving, when night falls we need a honed set of skills and an enhanced degree of confidence and awareness.

There's no magic involved, just knowing when & where to look, and how to make some observational links can greatly improve your confidence and progress.

I usually run these courses from late Autumn through to early spring, starting around 18.00 and finishing at 22.00. But of course, I can run them in the summer if your willing to start and finish later!
